While we are busy prepping for album-release, we have also started a new kind of process. Instead of releasing albums in the future, we will release singles! Since we live in different parts of Norway, and all of us are busy with as students and entrepreneurs, this allows us to keep experimenting as a studio-band for the time being without it taking up to much of our time in big bulks.
I’m currently situated in Stoke,England studying music technology at Staffordshire uni. And with the uni comes treated control rooms with very smooth gear for recording/editing. Which brings me to the relevance of this post. On our upcoming release we went for that tight and processed sound, and although the outcome became what we wished for it’s always nice to progress. So while editing the drums for our first post-album single, i didn’t really edit much at all. Much like we did on our EP, just let the drums breathe on their own, and then record the rest of the elements loosely around them to let all the little discrepancies in time play out. The difference this time is that the songs in general are a lot better, and our knowledge of recording and producing has escalated to say the least. We are also going to outsource the mix and master process to someone trustworthy and passionate in the business, to ensure that our future spawns will the taken care of. So stay tuned for more as we will track the process through this page, as well as future endeavours.
